Indications:

  • Diagnostic cystoscopy is done when preliminary investigations like ultrasound, X Ray, CT scan are non diagnostic or reveal a problem which needs endoscopic evaluation.

  • Cystoscopy may also be done to remove tissue samples for biopsy, to place ureteric stents and as an ancillary procedure during definitive surgery of the urinary tract.
